Sprint Racing in Kentucky
In 2005, the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association (KyQHA) announced the creation of an initiative to help promote pari-mutuel sprint racing in Kentucky and to help unify groups and individuals interested in furthering the sport.
The key objectives are to work more closely with the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) and the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority (KHRA), to enhance communications among all segments of this industry in the Commonwealth, to increase general awareness of sprint racing across the region, and to help promote this sport to new owners, breeders and fans in Kentucky and southeastern states.
KyQHA’s Sprint Racing initiative is not meant to compete or conflict with other groups or associations with compatible goals. Rather the intentions are solely to help to broaden support and to complement all other efforts.
