Louisville resident Emily Weber was crowned the 2007 Kentucky Quarter Horse Queen during the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association (KyQHA) Summer Spectacular horse show.
As Queen she will represent the state of Kentucky at the 2007 All-American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio and compete with 33 other girls for the national title of Congress Queen. The competition will be held from October 17 through October 21 where Weber will be tested on horsemanship, interview skills and the American Quarter Horse Association Rulebook.
“From the Kentucky State Fair to the Summer Spectacular and from the Kentucky Derby to the Belmont Stakes and many more in-between, horses are a constant in my life and will always be important and dear to me,” Weber wrote in her application for the KyQHA Queen. She will be a senior at Bellarmine University this fall majoring in Business Administration and Communications.
Interview Judge Linda Cianciola stated, “Emily has an aura about her. Not only is she beautiful, but her personality just blows you away.”
Sylvie Hundley, who will be starting college at Ohio Wesleyan University this fall, will be representing Kentucky as the 2007 Junior Queen. The 2007 Princess is nine-year-old Kelsey Bishop of Taylorsville, Ky. Weber, Hundley and Bishop walked away with numerous prizes and will have the responsibility of representing the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association at many events around the state including the 2007 Kentucky State Fair, Kentucky Futurity, KyQHA Awards Banquet, State FFA Convention and State 4-H Horse Show.
