For Immediate Release
August 1, 2006
In 2004, AQHA initiated a new award titled ‘Most Valuable Professional’. This award is to be given to the Most Valuable Professional Horseman/Horsewoman belonging to each state and provincial affiliate in recognition of service and support to that affiliate.
AQHA’s Professional Horsemen’s Committee, with approval from the Executive Committee, recommends each affiliate accept nominations from the general membership and then put all nominees before them for a vote. Based on the voting, the KyQHA will then submit to AQHA just one individual for recognition.
Also, beginning in 2006, all affiliate Most Valuable Professional winners will become nominated for a national MVP award to be presented at the AQHA’s Annual Convention.
The Professional Horsemen’s Committee has set the criteria for eligibility as follows:
- Must be involved in, and shown support of, his/her state or provincial affiliate
- Must be a current member in good standing of his/her state or provincial affiliate, of AQHA and of AQHA Professional Horsemen
- Should be recognized by his/her peers as a fair and upstanding business person that upholds the ethical standards of AQHA Professional Horsemen
- Must be one who has worked toward the future of our industry by being positive and innovative in business endeavors
- There will be one award per affiliate given annually
