Luba’s Blueboy Dreamer earns AQHA High Point Awards in Trail
March 2007 - Blueboy Dreamer, owned by Christopher Luba, of Louisville, Ky. and trained by Tommy Sheets, of New Albany, Ind., earned the 2006 AQHA High Point Award for Open Trail and Senior Open Trail. Under Colin Luba, the pair earned the top spot in Youth Trail, with 157 points. “Blue” has also earned a Superior in trail, and many other high point trail awards. Look for Blueboy Dreamer and Christopher Luba at this year’s events.
Chelsea Schreiber Earns High Points Awards in 2 Youth Hunter Events
Chelsea Schreiber, 14, KyQHA member from Liberty Township, Ohio, earned the 2006 AQHA High Point Awards in Youth Hunter Hack (86.5 points) and Youth Working Hunter (79 points) aboard 1997 bay gelding Gifted Circle. The pair has also earned a number of other AQHA awards including AQHA Champion, AQHA performance champion and Superiors in working hunter, hunter hack, equitation over fences and hunt seat equitation. Of Gifted Circle’s personality, Chelsea remarks, “Carson is honest and adorable but can be a bit grumpy.” Chelsea also said she dedicates every ride to her papaw, who passed away last March. “I wanted every ride to be the best so he could watch from heaven.”

News from the Youth World Show

This year Kentucky sent 22 youth participants to Fort Worth for the Youth World Show. These youth showed in over 18 different classes. Tyler Allen, Lindsey Blaine, Sarah Boden, Ben Gassaway, Leslie Gilb, Garet Payne, Caroline Rhoades and Benjamin Smith made their World Show debut this year. 2006 also marked the last Youth World show for Emily Boden and Mallory Wilson as they move to the Amateur ranks next year. Each was honored with a dinner honoring their contributions to KQHYA during their youth career.
Kentucky team members should be proud of all their accomplishments at the World Show. Everyone bought their A-game and the following results reflect months of preparation and hard work.

(June 21, 2006) Colin Luba, KQHYA President, was recently elected to serve as Region 4 Director of AQHYA. The other Region 4 Directors are Tanner Van Essen, from Michigan and Hailey Thonton, from Indiana.
